Where have I been?

Hey guys, just an update. I've been busy so I haven't been blogging of late. Hopefully I'll be back soon with some good news too!

Nailease - Instant Manicure!

I was sent these Nailease strips to try out and I was a little skeptical at first as I have used a similar product and they were difficult to use and lasted for only 2 days!

I can not tell you how easy these Nailease strips are to use and I got the cutest design ever! The only unfortunate thing for me is that the strips were too wide for my narrow nails so I had to cut them down to size myself. I thought this would be a problem but they actually stretch to fit on my nail!

The results were a very funky looking design on my nails, which looked like I painted them myself. (They are actual varnish on strips) They stayed shiny and they lasted for 5 days. I'm not a lady of luxury so I do the dishes and other chores so I'm sure they will last longer than that if you wore gloves or were a little more careful.

Summary

  • RRP $11.95
  • Cool designs and easy to use
  • Would I buy it again? Yes, if I wanted some cool looking nails!

QV - Rescue Gel

So as you may or may not know I have sensitive skin and I also have psoriasis so I'm always looking out for a nice oil free moisturiser that will not make my skin go crazy.

I was sent QV Rescue Gel to try as it is supposed to calm and sooth sensitive skin. I contains Avemide 15 which is supposed to do that. I'm always skeptical with buzz words. I tried googling Avemide and it's only QV related but what is it exactly?

I used this gel for a couple of days and my skin didn't react badly to it at all. It is a very light formula and feels moisturising but its mentholated! I'm not a fan :( It would have been a great product if the menthol wasn't an ingredient.

Summary

  • RRP $19.95 for 30ml
  • Good for sensitive skin, Dermatologically tested
  • Feels moisturising even though its a light formula
  • Buy it if you have sensitive skin and don't mind menthol
  • Would I buy it again? No, because I don't like menthol

Beauty Department - Summer Natural Gradual Tan

So you're wondering why a girl who is as dark as me (MAC NC40) would need a fake tan? That's because my legs don't see the sun very much and are as white as a polar bear's belly.

I was given Summer to try out and I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't want to look Fanta orange like these guys. So I tried it one morning after my shower. I opened the jar and it smells really nice! Hard to describe the smell but its a botanical, good for you kinda scent.

I tested it out for 10 days and my legs looked naturally tanned! (Might not look it but they are!) It only took 3 days for my legs to start looking tanned. Amazing! Light brown golden tinge. No hint of orange at all. No streaking either. I must admit, I do wear ballet flats all the time and there was build up around my foot, but that's my fault cause I didn't wait for Summer to dry completely before putting my shoes on!

Summary

  • RRP $34.95
  • Does not streak and gives a natural looking tan
  • Organic ingredients and smells great!
  • Buy if you want to want to keep looking radiant even in winter.
  • Would I buy it again? Yes, so my legs match the rest of my body!

Urban Decay - Cannonball Mascara

This is probably the best waterproof mascara I have used. I bought it in Sephora whilst I was in Hawaii. It does not budge and it is quite lengthening because of the fibres in the mascara.

The brush is awesome for me cause its small and thin and coats my short lashes but I must warn you, this mascara is not volumising at all and its such a shame because of its waterproof properties!

Summary

  • $20USD
  • The best waterproof mascara that I have bought, you'll need a good remover!
  • Black and lengthening but not volumising
  • Buy it if you sweat alot or in a synchronised swim team
  • Would I buy it again? No, because I like volumising mascaras
